Aftercare & recovery groups
Helping you maintain positive change
Aftercare not only reduces the risk of relapse but also helps maintain treatment gains.
The North Yorkshire Horizons team offer personalised aftercare support to help you transition from treatment to independent recovery. Once you have finished treatment, it’s easy to forget everything you’ve learned and resort to old coping strategies. This is why aftercare is vital! By attending aftercare sessions or groups, you will continue to develop and build on your Recovery.
What is aftercare?
Getting started
Here is a list of questions to help you start thinking about the goals you want to work towards in aftercare.
- What long-term commitment/s do I want to make to myself?
- What could threaten my recovery?
- What have I discovered that I enjoy or would like to do more of?
- What’s next for me?
My mental health has improved ten-fold
Telephone Recovery Service (TRS)
If required you can access additional support from trained volunteers who have personal experience of overcoming negative behaviours. You’ll receive a weekly phone call from someone who can relate to you and your journey to help you keep your focus.
Recovery Groups
Our recovery groups are facilitated by the NYH aftercare team and our volunteers. Groups offer valuable access to peer and social support from people who know what it’s like to navigate the ups and downs of recovery. Click on the timetable below.
