Volunteers provide 12 days of festive joy at North Yorkshire Horizons
Volunteers at North Yorkshire’s Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service recently delivered 12 digital sessions for people who use the service in the run up to Christmas.
The sessions covered a wide variety of interests ranging from festive crafts, self-care to exercise and film reviews, delivered by volunteers who had expertise in each subject. Following a national theme experienced by lots of people, there was even a quiz to challenge people on their Christmas knowledge!
Rebecca Tait, Volunteer and Peer Mentor Co-ordinator at North Yorkshire Horizons said: “Our digital sessions were really successful and our volunteers delivered some fantastic workshop style sessions to people who use our services and staff.
“We had 78 people attend in total, with many people showing their appreciation by attending more than one session.”
During the current COVID-19 lockdown, North Yorkshire Horizons continues to deliver digital sessions to clients and staff, helping everyone to cope with issues of isolation. If you would like to know more, please call North Yorkshire Horizons on 01723 330730 or visit www.nyhorizons.org.uk.
