Horizons service users celebrate their achievements
North Yorkshire Horizons’ Harrogate hub has held a graduation and celebration event, including a lunch, for service users who have successfully completed the Back To You course, in 2019.
, Chris Crow, said: “This course acts as a guide for service users to process all of their thoughts and reflections and ultimately helps them create their own road map to living a more purposeful and purpose-filled life.”
Nine graduates received their certificates from Ted Haughey, Humankind’s Executive Director of Operations, North East and North Yorkshire. A further nine graduates received their certificates by post, as they were unable to attend.
Guest speaker was service user, Julie Bettison, who gave an inspirational and emotional talk to staff and fellow graduates about her recovery journey. The certificate presentation was followed by an informal buffet lunch.
Chris said: “Back To You graduations are always an inspirational event for both service users who have completed the course, and members of staff who are able to reflect on the part they have played in each persons recovery”. Every graduation is different, but they are always a fantastic celebration for everyone involved.”
