Cheerful Naomi happy to help
Naomi Joined the service in September 2018 after studying for a degree in Counselling. Naomi was looking for a challenge and development opportunities and came to the project with bags of enthusiasm.
Stephen Flood, Volunteer and Peer Mentor Coordinator at North Yorkshire Horizons, said: “Naomi has made a flying start, having little experience of treatment services she now manages her own ‘Check In’ group, supports clients with 1-2-1 recovery advocacy and facilitates a very popular evening SMART recovery Group.”
And he added: “Her colleagues describe her as a breath of fresh air!’ ‘Bubbly, Cheerful & Reliable. Thank you, Naomi.”
And Naomi said: “It’s important to have volunteers in the service as they can spend extra time supporting clients. I feel privileged to have got to know some of our clients.”
