Wasted this summer campaign
Drug and Alcohol recovery service North Yorkshire Horizons has launched its latest Wasted this Summer campaign, aimed at young people in the summer season.
The campaign, which follows a similar one last summer, provides up-to-date information for party-going young people in the area to make smart choices and reduce potential harm at this time of year.
Mark Vidgen, Assistant Director of North Yorkshire Horizons said: “As the summer parties and the festival season arrives, we are advising people that they can have fun in a way that means you and others look to minimise the risks involved.
“We know from experience that people can get carried away at festivals and events. This years’ Wasted This Summer campaign offers practical advice to help people understand how their choices about alcohol and drugs can have an impact on the way they behave. Ultimately we’re looking to help people stay safe this summer.”
The campaign will be supported by social media messages that can be shared with the hashtag #WastedSummer.
Hints and tips include advice on staying hydrated, how to minimise risks and what to do in the event of someone being unwell.
Copies of the campaign posters can also be obtained by contacting North Yorkshire Horizons on 01723 330 730.
